This one-year, two-semester Master of Education helps students understand, critique and improve their own educational practice so they can better serve their communities and wider society. It is offered in the evening and on weekends across the Male', GDh. Thinadhoo, HDh. Kulhudhuffushi and S. Hithadhoo campuses.
The course caters both for classroom teachers wanting to build their competencies and for educators and other professionals working outside the classroom, and it opens a pathway for professionals from other fields who already hold an MQA-accepted Level 7 certificate. Across all these groups, the course aims to build the knowledge, skills and understanding graduates need to take on leadership roles confidently in schools and other demanding educational environments.
Entry requires a bachelor's degree in a related field; where that Level 7 qualification was not taught in English, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, or an equivalent test result, is also required.
