Diploma in Information Technology

The Diploma in Information Technology equips students with core computing skills and the conceptual understanding needed to perform well in a global computing environment, with specific attention to the opportunities and challenges a globalised marketplace creates for IT operations. Fundamentals of programming, networking, database design and development, information security management principles and strategic information systems make up the technical core of the one-year programme. Essential mathematics, academic writing skills and a project management module complete the diploma, giving graduates the numeracy, communication and planning skills that sit alongside pure technical ability in most IT roles. Across 120 MNQF credits, the qualification is designed to prepare students for entry-level roles in programming, networking, database administration or information security, and equally to serve as a foundation for further study in computing or information technology.
