Program details
Overview
This honours degree builds the capabilities students need to practise as a speech language pathologist, building an in-depth understanding of how human communication and swallowing develop over a person's life and the nature of the disorders that can affect them. Alongside the core subject, the course covers psychology, education, linguistics, and behavioural and biomedical science, with clinical placements under qualified speech language pathologists giving students direct, supervised practical experience.
Delivered full-time over four years for a total of 240 ECTS credits, the course prepares graduates for employment across Malta's local health services, specialist health services, schools, adult training centres, homes for the elderly, private institutions and non-governmental bodies, equipping them to work with a broad range of client groups. Within Malta's qualifications framework, the degree is pitched at MQF Level 6, the Bachelor's (Honours) level.
