Overview

This course examines Sustainable Development Goal 16, focusing on how access to justice advances the wider set of SDGs, covering the concept itself, its connections to other goals, and progress reflected in national agendas. It takes a socio-legal lens to show how access to justice became embedded in international and national law, then turns to today's empirical evidence on how distinct population groups experience this right, including a session on the methods used to study the relationship between access to justice and vulnerable groups. Teaching is delivered across five two-hour, on-campus interactive lectures.
