This English-taught research master's studies ethics and political philosophy as they relate to pressing societal and political concerns, among them climate change, social injustice, protest, public health, technology and digitalisation, exploring questions including the nature of critique in French and German critical theory, the ethical and political dimensions of digitalisation and AI, how practices of protest and activism can be understood, and whether post-truth relies on myth-building. Its emphasis is on continental practical philosophy engaged with issues such as disability, racism and post-truth, deepening textual knowledge of ethics and social and political philosophy while applying it to questions of justice, equality, care and ethical values, and building skills in ethical, social and political analysis.
