The master's builds expertise on the concept of 'America' across fields including US history, literature, popular culture, politics, foreign policy, constitutional law and social science, offering critical perspectives on both American culture and American power. Distinct emphasis is placed on how the United States relates culturally and politically to its neighbours and to Europe, and the single specialisation on offer is called Transatlantic Studies: History, Culture and Politics.
