MA/MS in Asian Studies: Chinese Studies (120EC)

The MA in Chinese Studies, a specialisation within Asian Studies, combines in-depth knowledge of China with advanced language proficiency, taught in small classes that allow direct contact with lecturers. The two-year programme approaches China through a wide range of perspectives, applying comparative and global viewpoints, developing advanced critical and analytical thinking alongside the ability to conduct independent academic research, and builds command of Mandarin, and in some specialisations Classical Chinese, together with an understanding of China's internal and external dynamics within the wider Asian context. Two semesters are spent studying at Shandong University in Jinan, China.
