MA/MS in Philosophy (60 ec)

The master's integrates historical and systematic approaches to philosophy, offering advanced training in philosophical method alongside reasoning, logic and critical thinking, with a choice of five specialisations. The department's research strengths include political philosophy and non-Western philosophy, supported by an international staff with expertise spanning continental philosophy and the theory of knowledge, and the content combines current academic theory with the historical development of several branches of philosophy. Students study, analyse and discuss primary philosophical texts, learning to evaluate the principles behind different positions and to develop and communicate arguments of their own, skills that carry over into professions outside philosophy.
