Overview

The specialisation builds expertise in the psychological factors behind economic and consumer decision-making, such as why people choose to buy particular products or services. Its core curriculum centres on integrating psychological and economic theory with practice, giving students in-depth knowledge by focusing on the broad rules that explain economic and consumer behaviour, addressing questions such as how consumers decide what to purchase, how rational those choices really are, and how people sell their own products and ideas to others. Because economic behaviour overlaps considerably with social behaviour, the specialisation draws heavily on that connection in addressing these questions.
