MA/MS in Bioinformatics and Biocomplexity

The two-year master's centres on bioinformatics and biocomplexity as core, interdisciplinary fields within the life sciences. Bioinformatics is used to analyse the large volumes of biological data generated by observations and experiments on living matter, while biocomplexity research develops mathematical and computational models to simulate biological processes and identify the building blocks and interactions behind observed behaviour. Teaching covers the theoretical basis and fundamental techniques of bioinformatics and biocomplexity, before moving to applying, adapting and redeveloping these methods to address complex biological research questions, with lectures, assignments and internships drawn from current research in the field.
