MA/MS in Gender Studies (Research)

This research master trains students to critically examine the ways gender and ethnicity intersect with other categories drawn from social and historical analysis, combining a solid grounding in the historiography and current state of gender studies with intensive training in cultural theory and epistemology as approached from queer, critical race, postcolonial and feminist perspectives. Taught within an interdisciplinary setting that brings together staff and students from fields ranging from anthropology to literary studies, the programme trains students to put these theories to work in analysing how gender shows up in representations across artistic practice, literary texts, political discourse, and new and established media and technology.
