Ph.d.-programmet i musikkforskning

The music research PhD is a full-time three-year programme with a training component and an independent research project in the form of a thesis. Students may specialise in areas linked to the academy's research centres: music education and education research, music therapy and music and health, and practice-oriented musicology including performance practice and music theory. Learning goals include systematic knowledge of a research field and sound academic writing and research ethics. The programme leads to a PhD degree of 180 ECTS credits and starts in the autumn. Research results are presented as a monograph or as a collection of articles in the academy's publication series. Students carry out research individually and together with others.
