Overview
The Bachelor of Education in Primary Education, run by the Department of Education, Languages and Media on the Anse Royale campus, prepares student teachers to work confidently and reflectively in primary classrooms, serving learners from childhood through to adulthood. It blends pedagogical theory with hands-on preparation for the realities of the primary school setting.
Teaching combines lectures and tutorials with Work-Based Experience placed in partner schools, so trainees practise alongside studying theory. Lecturers and support staff mentor participants throughout, aiming to build ethical, theory-informed classroom practitioners ready for ongoing professional growth.
Seychellois students can study full-time over a minimum of three years or part-time twice a week, extending the programme to as long as five years depending on the pathway chosen. Tuition is billed annually, though published rates are described as subject to change.
