Master of Arts in Applied Psychology

This master's degree in applied psychology, offered through the National Institute of Education at NTU, trains practitioners in clinical, counselling or educational psychology. It is available full-time or part-time. Reflecting the standards for registration as a psychologist in Singapore, the course includes taught coursework, a practicum of 1000 hours and a dissertation, and up to two further optional courses are allowed. The aim is to produce graduates who can lead psychological practice in Singapore. Entry is selective. Applicants need an Honours degree majoring in psychology, preferably at Second Upper level or above, and the educational and counselling specialisations also ask for a minimum of two years' relevant full-time employment after the first degree. Counselling applicants must also have completed 12 to 40 hours of basic counselling skills training.
