Agriculture and Environment is a three-year academic bachelor's programme at the University of Maribor's Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences. It comprises 180 ECTS credits and leads to the Bachelor of Science degree. The subject area is classified as an inter-disciplinary agriculture, forestry, fisheries and veterinary programme.
Graduates are trained to resolve agricultural problems through standardised, expert and scientific methods. They are prepared for leading roles in farming enterprises, cooperatives and advisory boards, and for administrative posts that call for agricultural expertise in research agencies, agricultural exchanges, trade federations and state agricultural units. Technical departments of agricultural companies, cooperative organisations and engineering associations are further possible employers.
As an academic first-cycle degree, it lets graduates carry on to postgraduate study, both master's and doctoral, at universities and other institutions that accept the qualification.
