— it helps other students.
This doctoral programme lets students deepen their grasp of theory and method in teacher education and the educational sciences. It prepares them to build knowledge independently and to address difficult questions of practice and science with an interdisciplinary outlook. The programme runs for four years and leads to a Doctor of Science degree.
Candidates work in one of two scientific fields, Teacher Education or Educational Sciences. Alongside elective modules chosen to suit the planned research, students carry out individual research work for the dissertation under a mentor or co-mentor, which accounts for 120 ECTS credits. Doctoral students can also take part in Erasmus mobility.
Applicants normally hold a second-cycle degree or an equivalent qualification, and graduates of foreign universities may enrol once their prior education has been recognised under the statute of the University of Ljubljana.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Completed second-cycle study programme; or a programme regulated by EU directives worth 300 ECTS, or another integrated master's programme worth 300 ECTS; or a previous university-level programme from before the Higher Education Act of 3 September 2004; or a previous scientific master's or specialisation after a university programme, in which case at least 60 ECTS are credited towards the doctorate. Graduates of foreign universities may enrol once their prior education has been recognised under the University of Ljubljana Statute.
