Overview

Educational Sciences is a third-cycle doctoral programme at the Faculty of Education of the University of Primorska. It is designed as a three-year course of 180 ECTS credits, and students can collect up to 60 credits in each year. The programme trains researchers to investigate pedagogical practice and to deal with problems tied to the professional interests of individuals and educational institutions. Students develop innovative and critical approaches to theoretical and practical problems and gain a firm grasp of theory and research methodology. They are prepared to lead demanding scientific and research projects in education and to develop cooperative professional learning. On completion of the study requirements and a successful defence of a doctoral dissertation, graduates can independently produce new knowledge, present results to a critical public, and lead and cooperate in teams.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Open to applicants with a second-cycle master's degree, an older university-level degree (programmes adopted before 11 June 2004), a five-year 300-credit master's degree, or a comparable foreign qualification that entitles them to continue studying.
