Overview

The programme develops expertise in intelligent systems that sense, analyse and act independently, with applications in industrial robotics, autonomous vehicles and advanced communication networks. Students learn to help shape the transformation of manufacturing, transport, energy and healthcare. An intelligent automation specialisation covers efficient, flexible and sustainable industrial processes, designed with intelligent algorithms and advanced control methods. Master's thesis projects are often carried out with researchers and industrial partners, and advanced courses link to Chalmers' doctoral education. The programme lasts two years and carries 120 credits.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, engineering physics, chemical, computer engineering or engineering mathematics. Prerequisites: at least 30 credits in mathematics, including linear algebra, multivariable analysis, transforms and mathematical statistics; automatic control, including PID controllers, state-space models, stability analysis and Nyquist diagrams; physics, including circuit laws and Newton's laws; basic programming. Proof of English proficiency is required.
