Overview

The Anesthesia associate degree at Istanbul Beykent University is a two-year, four-semester Turkish-language programme for technical staff who assist surgeons and anaesthesiologists. It covers the theory and practice of anaesthesia, intensive care and pain units, the technical use of the equipment in those units, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Graduates complete all practical courses and internships and receive the title Anestezi Teknikeri. The Bologna page notes that many earlier graduates found work in public hospitals and private clinics.

Admission Requirements: Admission through the national YKS exam with the TYT score type and ÖSYM central placement. 70 places; lowest placement score 362.7 (success rank 340,481).

Application Details

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
