The Communication and Design programme trains media professionals, with emphasis on visual communication and visual technologies in advertising, journalism, visual design, video and television production, and new media. The programme treats modern media as a major force in globalisation and links theory with practice.
Students take courses in media studies, interpersonal and public communication, visual design, advertising, marketing and public relations, and basic computing and internet use. Practical work takes place in computer labs, photography studios and a digital video studio. The programme encourages theoretical, interdisciplinary and comparative approaches to improve standards in Turkish media and visual culture.
