Overview

Gerontology is a multidisciplinary bachelor's programme that studies ageing and later life through health subjects such as physiology and chronic diseases, together with social sciences, law, psychology, communication, care and rehabilitation. It combines theory with applied practice. The programme aims to improve the quality of life of older people by applying new technological and economic developments in care and services. Graduates receive a bachelor's degree. Admission is by the SAY score type through ÖSYM placement, and transfers are decided by departmental and faculty committees.

Admission Requirements: Admission via ÖSYM central placement with the YKS SAY score type; 30 places; lowest placement score 272.9.

Application Details

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
