Overview

The Irrigation Technology associate programme at Siirt's Kurtalan Vocational School is a two-year, in-person course taught in Turkish with an internship. It was established in 2018 within the Plant and Animal Production Department. It aims to train technicians who use water resources efficiently and sustainably in agricultural production. Courses cover plant, soil and water relationships, irrigation water management, irrigation methods and system planning, pressurised irrigation, agricultural drainage, water resource protection and modern irrigation techniques. Graduates receive an associate diploma and can work in agriculture under the applicable regulations.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission through the national YKS exam with ÖSYM central placement, using the TYT score type. The 2026 guide lists 30 places and a lowest placement score of 237.1 (success rank 1,684,129). Admission follows the YÖK and ÖSYM rules for the year.

Application Details

Application Process: Turkish applicants list the programme among their choices (tercih) in ÖSYM's central placement after the YKS results each July; international applicants apply directly to the university's international student office under the YÖS quota, usually between May and August.
