Program details

Overview

This multidisciplinary PhD trains researchers to tackle complex challenges in cardiovascular science. It is funded by the British Heart Foundation and runs over four years, with students working across Cambridge and its partner institution, Oxford. Supervision draws on a shared pool of researchers and aligned infrastructure, giving students training that crosses disciplinary boundaries. Students develop both technical skills and conceptual knowledge so that they can address cardiovascular problems from several angles. The programme prepares graduates for postdoctoral research or for careers in related professions. Applicants should expect a research-focused course in which original investigation sits at the centre of study.
