Overview

A supervised doctorate leading to a thesis of up to 80,000 words, normally completed in three to four years of full-time study, with a slower part-time route also available. Candidates are examined orally on their thesis and the wider field of philosophy it engages with.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Requires the equivalent of two years of full-time study in Philosophy, normally a first-class degree or a good upper-second (at least 67% / US GPA 3.6), plus a Master's at or close to Merit level in Philosophy or a related discipline.
