Overview

This part-time school-led PGCE with QTS trains teachers for the primary age range from five to eleven. It is delivered locally in Shropshire with partner schools, offering a flexible route into initial teacher education for people who cannot study full time. The two-year route combines academic study with professional practice in schools. The first year builds foundations, while the second year moves towards extended classroom experience, with placements in more than one setting. Trainees work towards Qualified Teacher Status and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, learning to meet the Teachers' Standards in real classrooms. Graduates are prepared for primary teaching roles.
