BA/BS in Social Work

The Bachelor of Social Work prepares students for careers such as addiction counselor, caseworker, child welfare worker, crisis intervention worker, hospice worker and agency director. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects social work employment to grow faster than average. The Council on Social Work Education accredits it, and the curriculum aims to give graduates what they need for licensing exams and the academic side of licensure requirements for licensure, although no program can guarantee a license. The Office of Career Development helps with advising, internships and job searches. Career advising, internship access and job-search help come from the university's career office, while the financial services team walks applicants through FAFSA, payment plans and tuition deferment. The university is accredited by its regional accreditor, the Middle States Commission.
