BA/BS in Social Work

This interdisciplinary bachelor's degree, offered through NYU's school of social work, addresses major health problems and supports collaborative research on public health at national and international levels. Students begin with a first-year seminar and move through a curriculum that blends the two fields. Graduates are prepared for careers in community and governmental organizations, clinical health care settings, social service agencies, and educational and research institutions. Prospective undergraduates can consult the university bulletin page for the full list of required courses, the credit structure of the major and the criteria for honors study. Advisers in the department help students plan their sequence of courses alongside the wider requirements of their school, and many students combine the major with other fields of interest.
