AA/AS in Mathematics

Alvin Community College offers an Associate in Science in Mathematics as a program designed as a stepping stone toward a bachelor's institution. The page presents mathematics as a versatile field with relevance to business, healthcare, government, education, finance and insurance. Beginning at the college is described as a way to earn an associate degree while keeping educational costs lower than they would be at a university from the outset. The associate degree does not lead directly into a mathematics career field, but the page notes that some entry-level positions, such as billing clerk, may be open to graduates. The program page includes a cost summary and links to the college's financial aid section, which helps students judge how to fund their studies. Interested students can use the application link on the page to begin the admission process.
