AA/AS in Mathematics

The Mathematics degree teaches students to use mathematics on everyday and professional problems, as actuaries, operations researchers, statisticians and economists do. Students practice building complete, rigorous arguments, spotting patterns and re-examining assumptions behind logical systems. Its curriculum parallels the mathematics and general education courses that bachelor's students take early on. Sinclair Community College offers this associate of science, which belongs to the STEM division and its Mathematics area. The listed requirements total 60 credit hours and reflect the catalog version effective Fall 2026. Anyone planning to continue at another institution should meet an advisor early, so the courses chosen line up with the bachelor's program they hope to enter. Course lists can change, so students should confirm current details with the college before enrolling.
