AA/AS in Psychology, General

The Associate of Arts in Psychology at Alvin Community College gives students the initial two years of general coursework together with a base in how people behave and think. It is meant as a stepping stone toward a bachelor's institution. The department highlights faculty who include licensed therapists and a doctoral-level instructor, some with long teaching experience. Courses introduce theories and research, and the skills built there, such as problem solving and stress management, apply to personal life, work and further study. The degree can be completed in four semesters and may be earned entirely online. Graduates who go on to advanced degrees often pursue work as therapists, coaches or educators. The program page includes a cost summary and links to the college's financial aid section, which helps students judge how to fund their studies. Interested students can use the application link on the page to begin the admission process.
