The biology program at Andrews offers a foundation in the study of living things, spanning organisms from microscopic bacteria to large marine mammals. Coursework builds fundamental knowledge along with communication and analytical skills that apply across many careers. Instruction is framed by the Adventist faith tradition. Students can work alongside professors on research, with projects spanning cancer biology and manatee ecology. Some students have their findings professionally published. The National Science Foundation has backed some of this research, which gives students access to serious scientific inquiry. Students also benefit from close community life.
