Program details

Overview

This Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry builds students who understand chemical concepts and can solve problems with them. Their work examines matter at a very small scale, creating new products, testing manufactured goods and refining theory. Learning takes place largely in the laboratory. Students become familiar with advanced equipment and spend research time alongside faculty, exploring practical uses of chemistry rather than only classroom theory. The degree is taught on the Boone campus and requires a minor, and many students choose a foreign language. More specialized Chemistry BS options exist, including Certified Chemist, Environmental and Fermentation Sciences. Prospective students can reach the undergraduate application dates, transfer credit guidance and cost and aid information from the program page, and can also request more information from the university.
