Computer Information Systems at Baltimore City Community College is an applied associate program centered on designing and building business software. Coursework moves through programming languages, systems analysis, database design, networking and information security, so students see how an organization's technology fits together. Learners practise application development, administer multi-user databases, study how computer networks communicate, and learn the basics of protecting systems from intrusion. Help desk and end-user support are covered as well, including evaluating products and installing equipment. The program holds ACBSP accreditation. Graduates may pursue roles such as programmer, database administrator, systems analyst or network technician, or continue toward a bachelor's degree.
