AA/AS in Design and Applied Arts

Baltimore City Community College provides two-year routes to an Associate of Applied Science in Fashion Design, including a version with a fashion retailing concentration. A shorter certificate is also available. Degree students learn to sketch original designs, draft patterns and sew, so that sketches become finished garments. Career paths include designing, creative direction, merchandising, styling and retail buying. Classes are small, virtual and remote learning is offered, and many graduates transfer to a bachelor's program or find job placement. General education requirements apply to every degree student.
