BA/BS in Biology, General

The Biology Program at Bard offers a curriculum with research opportunities both on campus and elsewhere. Students work alongside faculty whose projects have included studies of urban bird populations and of microbes that produce natural pigments. Program resources cover faculty profiles, recent senior projects, alumni, facilities, publications and a winter research program. Current majors are guided through moderation, the college's mid-degree review, and through pre-health requirements for those considering medical or related careers. The department also keeps an active community life, with a biology club that organizes visits to regional research sites, and with informal gatherings that bring new and returning students together at the start of each semester. Students can also look to the department for guidance on research placements away from campus.
