AA/AS in Computer Science

Brightpoint designed this two-year track for people who intend to complete a four-year computer science major at another school. The first half of the learning is about thinking through a problem as a sequence of logical steps and then turning that thinking into working software using a programming language. The second strand looks beneath the software layer. Students come to understand the machines that run programs, how separate computers communicate over networks, how an operating system coordinates resources, and how information and commands are encoded and arranged in storage. Because the aim is a smooth move to a university, the college posts a printable plan of study along with guidance on transferring. Qualified students may also receive G3 tuition assistance.
