AA/AS in Engineering, General

Students who want to become engineers can use this two-year degree as the first stage before moving to a university. It is aimed at future majors in fields including chemical, biomedical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and computer engineering. The learning goals are practical. Students define and work through difficult technical problems, explain their findings to others, contribute as members of a team, and plan and carry out experiments. They also rely on software to examine data and use professional judgment when reaching conclusions. Enrollment works in two steps. Newcomers begin in the college's general Science degree, and once the prerequisite classes are done they may submit an application to the engineering program itself.
