The Public Sector Management bachelor of arts is for students who want to grasp the policy and management questions facing government and nonprofit organizations and how these affect communities. Students see the political setting for public decisions and receive tools to analyze, develop, and carry out governmental structures and processes, present policy and administrative choices, and work within limits on people, money, and technology. Communication and management skills useful in any career are also developed.
The curriculum is multidisciplinary. Core courses come from Political Science, Communication Studies, and Management, while the departments of Sociology and of Urban Studies and Planning contribute electives along with the first two. Management courses are not offered in the online version of the program.
