AA/AS in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications

Networking technologies is an associate of applied science that prepares students for careers in information technology. Two tracks are available: cyber security, which centers on defending computers and networks from intrusion, and network administration, which centers on constructing, setting up and fixing networks. Many of the courses lead toward regional or national industry certifications. Graduates can pursue jobs as network and systems administrators, who install and support an organization's computing environment, or as web administrators, who keep websites available and responsive. Certificate options exist in cyber security, computer technician work and Amazon Web Services for students who want a shorter credential. The division chair can answer questions about the pathway.
