AA/AS in Real Estate

Real Estate study at Chabot College is aimed at people who want to work in property-related fields. The curriculum touches several areas of the industry: how transactions are structured, how rules and laws apply, how money is handled, how buildings are managed, and how value is assessed. Students have more than one way to earn a credential. An Associate of Arts degree is available, and two certificates, one for agents and one for brokers, can be completed along the way or on their own. The coursework lines up with what California expects of anyone preparing for the state licensing exam, whether for a salesperson or for a broker. The department page distinguishes between two planning documents. One is a suggested schedule that arranges classes by semester, which helps with deciding when to enroll. The other lists every requirement for an award, including electives. Full curriculum information sits in the college catalog, and graduates who finish an award can ask Admissions and Records for the degree or certificate using an online request form.
