Cert in Fire Protection

The Fire Service Certificate is a fast route to a fire department job. It combines Emergency Medical Technician training with two firefighter-level courses (1 and 2), which prepare students for the Ohio certification exams. State certification cards are issued only after the exams are passed. The plan spans three semesters, includes physical preparedness and emergency vehicle operation, and has no co-op or internship. All credits count toward the Fire Service Technology associate degree. The program code is FSTC. Job titles include firefighter and emergency medical technician.
