AA/AS in Business Administration, Management and Operations

Cuesta's Business Administration area gives students a broad grounding across many fields of commerce, from accounting and legal topics to economics, trade, finance, management, communication, marketing and entrepreneurship. Students examine the theory, history, ethics and technology behind today's global business environment. The coursework is lower-division preparation for a bachelor's degree in business. Two degree routes are described. The transfer degree is meant for students who plan to finish a similar major at a California State University campus; it guarantees a place in that system, without a promised spot at any one campus. The Career Track degree lets students assemble a personal plan from shared core business classes plus elective courses focused on managing, selling, bookkeeping, running a small firm or general commerce. It supports job entry or promotion and also serves as a stepping stone toward a four-year business degree.
