MA/MS in Music

The Master of Music Education emphasizes peacebuilding and pedagogies of belonging and resilience. It is designed for certified, in-service teachers and draws on trauma-informed pedagogy, Orff approaches and World Music Drumming. Its low-residency online design is supplemented by hands-on summer workshops, with an in-person week each summer. Learning outcomes include implementing World Music Drumming curricula alongside Dalcroze, Orff and Kodaly approaches, practicing peacebuilding philosophies, and creating materials that engage diverse musical traditions. The college holds accredited institutional membership in the National Association of Schools of Music. The program is offered through the School of Graduate and Professional Studies over three years. Prospective students can request information, attend a scheduled information session and apply online from the program page, with scholarships and financial aid available through the School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
