Overview
The Biotechnological Science A.A.S. trains students in laboratory and manufacturing skills for pharmaceutical and food-processing employers.
Local industry professionals and academics worked together to develop the curriculum in response to a regional shortage of qualified biotechnology and advanced manufacturing technicians.
The core introduces fundamentals of advanced manufacturing, with many hands-on lab sessions where theory is put into practice. Two concentrations are offered so students can prepare for high-demand industries. The program is housed in the Health Sciences Division.
The Associate in Applied Science is a career-focused degree awarded by the college. Erie Community College, also known as SUNY Erie, publishes this listing in its 2026-2027 catalog. Prospective students should confirm current course sequences and requirements with an adviser before applying.
