Cert in Public Health

The Community Public Health certificate introduces students to theoretical and practical public health skills, aimed at meeting demand for entry-level professionals. It is offered on the North Campus. Outcomes include describing how public health weighs intervention options, outlining how healthcare and public health systems are organised, judging health systems by access, quality and cost, and applying ethical principles. Courses cover public health, community health, medical law and ethics, behavioural and social influences on health, and global public health. The full course sequence, program competencies and any special notes appear in the college's 2026-2027 catalog entry. Applicants should confirm current entry steps, scheduling and costs with SUNY Erie admissions and the financial aid office before enrolling, since requirements can change between catalog years. Advisors can also explain how credits earned here may count toward further study or employment goals, and which campus location offers the schedule that fits a student's circumstances best.
