The Data Analytics certificate introduces students to a field that turns raw data into knowledge for decision makers. Applications reach business, marketing, finance, human resources, insurance, criminal justice, education, healthcare and manufacturing.
Organizations use analytics to spot customer trends, strengthen supplier relationships, lower financial risk and find sales opportunities. Employers may ask new hires to use analytics tools to uncover insight in large databases.
The certificate is offered through the College of Business and can be added to many majors. Transfer students may bring in no more than half of the certificate credits from another institution. Classes meet at the Big Rapids location, over the internet, or through a blend, and the College of Business may request full transcripts for admission.
