Overview
FAMU's computer science master's track suits students who want to build software professionally or pursue research. It provides a strong grounding in the discipline and walks students through the complete process of creating applications, from modeling and algorithm design through to coding languages and the frameworks used to build software.
Students choose an area of focus alongside faculty expertise; mobile computing, security and bioinformatics are among the examples given. To finish, each student selects an advisor and committee, completes a research thesis, and keeps a B average in their courses.
The degree can serve as an endpoint or as preparation for a doctorate. Applicants must satisfy graduate school entry rules and already have coursework in computing or a closely related area comparable to a minor. Contact details for the department are listed on its page.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Meet university-level graduate school admission requirements and hold at least the equivalent of a minor in computer science or a related field.
