BA/BS in History

The Bachelor of Arts in History asks students to examine how past societies shaped the present, building research, communication and investigative skills that transfer to many careers. Faculty research covers a wide range of regions and periods, which allows comparative study across cultures. Courses are offered in person, in hybrid form and fully online, and the fully online degree has earned a national ranking for affordability. The degree needs one hundred twenty total credits, counting accepted transfer credits, and at least forty-eight of them must be at the upper division level. Students who finish the degree gain skills in research, written and oral communication and investigative work that employers value across many fields. The department invites prospective students to take the first step toward earning the degree and joining its community of scholars.
