BA/BS in Public Administration

This undergraduate degree is meant for students who want to work in public service after graduation or continue into graduate study in public administration. Classes are available face to face and entirely online, so students can choose the format that fits their circumstances. Applicants are admitted straight into the major through the regular university application. Students must show competence in a second language, and the department advises finishing an associate degree and the university core curriculum before transferring in. Required preparatory courses cover American government, economics and basic computing. Once prerequisites are done, the upper-division curriculum focuses on how public agencies are run and how policies are shaped and put into effect.
