AA/AS in Fire Protection

The Associate in Science in Fire Science Technology offers advanced education for people in the fire service. Students build knowledge and experience useful for career advancement, with coursework on fire suppression methods, prevention, leadership, inspections, and how fires behave. It serves both students who have completed Florida's minimum standards firefighter training and those who want to broaden their options in the field. Classes are arranged to fit the schedules of working fire service personnel. Graduates can move on to the college's public safety administration bachelor's degree. Students planning to transfer elsewhere are encouraged to consult the receiving institution about its requirements. Florida SouthWestern State College is a public institution in Southwest Florida, and this program sits within its School-based academic structure. Prospective students can use the Apply link on the program page to begin enrollment and the Contact link to reach the department with questions.
